I’m newbie to internet marketing. I know it’s very silly questions but I really want to know that why do we need captcha for registration to our website?

There's another, more clever way to prevent bots from creating accounts. It's called the honeypot and essentially it's just an additional field which is hidden from view for humans. Nevertheless it's in the code and so a bot will just fill it out without hesitation. Therefore anyone who fills it out is a bot - and with no annoyance to the human users.

  3. Hi,It depends on how many spambots you expect for example:-
It usually only shows if you’ve tried to login unsuccessfully or for new accounts to protect against spam and fraud.

We use both, I'm the author of FoolBotHoneyPot and CustomImgCaptcha (and a few other anti spam related plugins)
This board has had bot and human spam trouble for a while. Now that this board has been updated to XenForo, spam is being clamped down to a minimum
