I am interested in making a program to start looking at stock data and was wondering if anyone is aware of a database service that provides an API to query for historical data. I have found hacks to download current stock information from Yahoo and Google, but I haven't seen anything that allows me to input the date or a date range and get those results.

I realize these services are not likely free, but I am having a hard time...

To get tips I use "the market monitor" I find out what is in the current portfolio, then I use the neural network provided by vantage point to see how reliable these tips are, and vantage point charts to look at previous history.
